Fiberglass Insulation Removal
Before we can improve your home's energy efficiency with foam insulation, we first have to remove the old deteriorating fiberglass. The nature of that process can vary substantially based on the type of pre-existing insulation used.
Common Insulation Types
Generally speaking there will two varieties of insulation found in your attic - spun fiberglass in a paper or plastic backed batting... think the pink stuff. You'll also encounter blown-in insulation that can resemble chopped paper mixed with dryer lint. It tends to be a grayish-brown and is loose packed into voids between trusses and joists. Each type has its own removal methods.
